I cannot say enough good things about this company, specifically our travel agent. She really planned a fabulous trip for me and my friend.
My agent contacted me after I filled out a query on Zicasso and suggested we schedule a call so I could tell her more about myself and my friend I was traveling with, what we like to do, what we didn't like, what we definitely wanted to do as well our price range. We had already booked our plane tickets to Portugal but didn't do much research regarding what we should do when we go there and wanted someone to take care of that for us as we didn't have a lot of time. Our agent pulled together an amazing itinerary for us that was a good balance of education (so we can learn about the cities we were visiting), experience as well as free time. She worked with us to keep the itinerary within price range and even changed things around at the 11th hour when we decided to switch things up a bit.
She listened to us and was very responsive when we had questions or things we wanted to change.
In addition, our agent really went the extra mile to help make things really easy for us so we didn't have to worry while we were there. Our flight to Lisbon was delayed causing us to miss our connection to Porto, she already had the train information available and ready. We had received restaurant suggestions, she made reservations for us (and gave us some suggestions of her own). She even gave us a cell phone and wifi to use while we were abroad so if we couldn't find a driver or our way around the city we could communicate.
Overall, I couldn't say enough good things about our agent and her company. I would highly recommend them to anyone who was planning a trip to Portugal.
There were so many parts of the trip that we enjoyed, it's hard to pick just one. Overall we LOVED Porto and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Portugal. Our tour guide there was fabulous. He was with us for two days. The first day he brought us all around Porto, walking us everywhere, and really giving us a feel for the city and the culture. I think he's the reason why we liked it so much. The second day he brought us to the Douro Valley where we toured a few wineries. You must have the Vinho Verde when you visit.
We enjoyed Lisbon as well. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and covered a lot of ground. We would definitely say you need to visit the city and Sintra but our most favorite parts of this portion of the trip were the Fado show and cooking class. Our agent did a really good job of giving us a peek into the current culture of the city.
In the Algarve we took a boat and jeep tour that was fabulous! We loved seeing the beautiful beaches and caves that are very unique to Portugal.
Overall, it was a great trip but I'd recommend:
-Spending two days in Sintra (spending the night in Sintra) so you can spend a little more time in the gardens and the town itself.
-Do two half day tours in Lisbon as opposed to one full day. We felt it was A LOT to take in one day.
-Skip the "pirate" boat tour but definitely take the jeep and boat trip.
