The trip was wonderful and generally well planned. There was a lack of communication or knowledge surrounding seating on our outgoing 8 hour flight. Had it been communicated that we needed to figure out our seating in advance we could have avoided some significant stress at the airport as we began our trip. There airline had very specific procedures regarding seating that wasn’t communicated to us.
Otherwise, the trip itself was phenomenal. The travel planner was available for questions leading up and a pleasure to work with.
As stated above, we wouldn’t have assumed all details were taken care of regarding our flights. I would have asked for confirmation numbers and such so I could have assured seating and known all procedures.We would have spent a full day at the Intercontinental in Tahiti. The pool there was phenomenal and we only had a few hours to enjoy it and explore the property. We would have considered a different property on Moorea. We loved our accommodations at the the resort, but the resort was incredibly small compared to what we expected. The food options were not great. We’d have at least planned dinners off property had we known in advance. We may have also stayed one less night and had more time on Bora Bora which offered far more in terms of the resort.
I’m sure the decisions were somewhat budget based, but I just wish more had been presented in terms of options on Moorea in a similar fashion to Bora Bora. Since this was a one in a lifetime type trip for us, we would have likely upgraded if presented the knowledge and options.

I am so very sorry that you had the stress of waiting for seat assignments at the airport. This was completely my fault and I apologize for adding stress on a travel day which is always already a bit nerve-wracking. Please allow me to explain how this mistake happened: 2 seats together on the side were requested at the time of booking air in July for your Nov departure· We received seat assignments for the return flight· However on the outbound flight the local airline’s response was – Airport Check-inHaving booked this airline for 20 years I thought that this meant they allocated 80% or so of the seats and held the rest for airport check-in. This was my mistake because this booking was the first we had when the local airline switched from allocating seat assignments for free to charging for seats. So Airport Check-in really meant – “you have to go online and purchase seat assignments." When your travel documents arrived I tried again to secure seats for the outbound flight and it was at this time that I learned of my mistake, went online found some options for 2 seats on the side and emailed you the link and step by step instructions to secure seats desired. In Moorea the hotel is considered the premier resort, and actually, at the time the another Moorea resort was on strike I like the food at the resort but can understand that others may not – and one of the unique features of Moorea is that the restaurants will come to pick you up from the resort (and bring you back) so am sorry you did not get out and about for some of your meals. The hotel in Bora Bora – fabulous and such a great place to celebrate your anniversary and end your trip to Tahiti – I agree an extra night in an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora is always a great idea!! I enjoyed working with you on your trip and hope that you have many lovely memories of your time in the islands. Again, I am very sorry for the seat mix-up on your flight to Tahiti. Best regards!
