Thank you to our agent at this travel company for a wonderful exploration of Spain! The is our second time using Zicasso in planning a vacation and, like the first time, it was a great experience. Our agent was very professional throughout our planning process and although we luckily did not need any assistance during our stay, he checked in with us to confirm everything was running smoothly. When we arrived at our first stop in Madrid, a very organized package was waiting for us with tickets and transfers, but also with unexpected and thoughtful recommendations of restaurants and driving directions.
Our trip included visits to Madrid, Cordoba, Seville, Ronda, Arcos, Grazalema, Granada, Barcelona, and Menorca. Madrid was quite beautiful and very clean. Starting the journey with a tapas tour was perfect because it gave us a comparison mark for the remaining cities. Cordoba was a favorite - Hotel Balcon de Cordoba was a superior stop with fabulous service and incredible views of the city. The hotel arranged for a horse and carriage to pick us up after dinner and we were in awe with this magical excursion. We were also quite impressed with Cordoba's mosque, Mezquita. We chose to stop in Grazalema as a detour driving to Granada and were thrilled that we did. Liked it even more than Arcos. It is a much smaller town, but more picturesque. Tablao Los Gallos flamenco in Seville was excellent and highly recommended, and Celia Morales guitar show in Ronda is perfection. Hotel La Fuente de la Higuera was beautiful and Ronda is also quite a memorable town. Hotel Alma in Barcelona is worthy of it's five stars. Private tours throughout the trip provided us with incredible knowledge and culture that we might have missed out on if we only explored on our own.
We covered a lot in 15 days, but didn't feel rushed. Of course, more time to explore is always wanted! IF we could change anything, arriving in Barcelona on a Sunday was probably not the best because most/all museums/highlights are closed Sunday/Monday, so I wished we took a day trip outside the city for those days, or had our architecture tour schedule for that time instead of on Tuesday when everything is open. We felt that was the only oversight of the travel agency. We also would have changed out the group architecture tour as the group was very large (33 people) and it was hard to really get a feeling for the buildings (except for Sagrada Familia) by just standing outside them. I don't think it was the best suggestion from our travel agency. I believe the hop on/hop off bus covers the same territory plus more. For those 2 reasons I would give 4.5 star rating to our agency.
