Elsa, the agent was very professional and pleasant.
Unfortunately, she was not accurate in the confirming the number of stays in hotels with the number of days on our vacation and the last two hotel reservations were incorrect. I took the time to compare the itinerary with the calendar and caught the issue before we traveled - preventing a problem on our trip. I sent an email with this concern and her boss assured me everything would be ok. I was uncomfortable enough I followed up with each hotel to confirm myself.
The second issue was with the rental car. The car itself was what we requested, but we were suppose to pick up and return the car to the Dublin airport. When we arrived at our first hotel we found out we had to pick up the car in town and return it to the airport, incurring an extra one-way fee that we were not advised of before our trip. At that point we were not able to make any changes.
The agent picked a great chauffaur, top notch, and great hotels. We loved Ariel House in Dublin - it was everything one would want in a hotel. The hotel in Cork, the Garrish House, was ok. The food and personal service were good but the room and bathroom was extremely small and the sink was just above our knees. The Mountain Dew B & B in Killarney was very nice, perfectly located, and very friendly. The Ardilaun Hotel in Galway was a very nice hotel but not our style. The hotel was changed from the previously scheduled one due to the problems with the itinerary and scheduled hotels. We loved the Delphi Mountain Resort, north of Connemara for hiking and outdoor activities.
Our day with our chauffaur, Ronan, going to Newgrange was very special. The young man is professional, very informed, and friendly.
Also, having such great weather during our whole stay we were able to see about 2000 km of the south and west coasts of Ireland by car. The people were so friendly. We did not have a single negative experience.
We enjoyed Blarney Castle at 5 PM, after the crowds had left. We enjoyed doing the Ring of Kerry in reverse, from North to South - we avoided being behind the tour buses that way. We enjoyed the Wicklow Mtns, Cobh and Kinsale, Mizen Head, Connemara and the Burren, and Killarney was our favorite city.
We would add on more days. We would add another day in Dublin. Add a day to hike around either the Wicklow, Ring of Kerry or Connemara areas.
