Our trip was a dream! This European travel company was easy and great to work with. They really listened to what we wanted, or maybe I should say what we didn't want, and came up with great tours that were perfect. Their presentations were beautiful and the book they sent us with our documents is actually something to keep! It walked us through day by day, where to be and just all the details you need for the trip. They even had done research on restaurants in all the cities!
The only issue we had was one I caused when I dropped the ball on reconfirming a tour. But the contact in that country called me and was able to re-arrange things so quickly that we didn't miss a moment of our tour.
Exceptional service from the beginning to the end!
Our trip was to Paris, Berlin, the Amalfi Coast and Rome. We loved each one for what they are. But it was important for us to be on small tours. Some were individual and some were with groups of no more than 6 -10. We did a bike ride through the neighborhoods of Paris that was fun and just let you see so much more of the city then large tours of the main attractions. We loved the tour of the Champagne region and visiting not only the large vineyards but the small ones too. We ended our last night with a champagne cruise that was really fun. I would definitely recommend The Market restaurant in Paris. We loved it so much we went two nights. It is just off the Champs Elysees and was fabulous food and service.
We did a walking tour in Berlin that was amazing. That was a tour with just us. Our guide gave us wonderful information and we could spend time on the areas of most interest to us. The tour of Sachsenhausen couldn't have been better or complete. We would definitely recommend both guides and tours. We stayed at the Hotel am Steinplatz which was in a wonderful neighborhood. There were great restaurants and nightclubs right around the corner.
Our travel expert told us we had to have lunch at Palazzo Avino in Revell, Italy. We were on a private tour down the coast. That was the most incredible setting ever!! From the moment we got out of the car, there someone was waiting to direct us. It is very high in the hills and overlooks the coast and the ocean. The service in the restaurant was exceptional as was the food. We had a wonderful Sommelier who suggested wines for us. We had a white wine that he said was "actually a red in disguise". Can't say enough about that 2 hour lunch!
The only change we would make would be to make sure we had stand up showers in our rooms! We only ran into this once in Sorrento. We stayed at a lovely hotel called La Tonnarella which in decades past was someone's summer villa. The view was amazing and it was so charming. Even my husband who travels every week and stays at modern hotels really enjoyed it. The staff was great too. We had a window in our bathroom and of course balcony doors that opened and both had the most incredible views. The breeze that came through was perfect. But, it was really hard for us to like the shower situation. If this is not a big deal to anyone, I would really suggest this hotel/villa. You can easily walk to town and we did it a couple of times almost every day.
