The trip to Italy was a last minute plan and I didn’t know where to start. I received an email from my agent at this Italy travel company and once we had an email and phone conversation about what I was looking to get out of my trip, she planned an itinerary for my approval.
What I loved was that the trip was tailored to my desires, even though my agent was suggesting places and excursions, I didn’t have to agree to any of them, and that included my accommodations she picked as well. Rather than having a travel agent who gives you set packages this travel company was able to pick and choose excursions based on my interests. If you want a group tour, that’s totally fine, I think they’re great too, but I wanted something with more adaptions to my preferences as well as me being able to feel more like I was in charge of getting around without relying on guides for everything.
After I agreed to the cities and excursions, and I booked my flights, my agent made all the arrangements for me in each city. It was fantastic and worth every penny. All my hotels were booked, my excursions were booked and my transportation to each city was booked. All I had to do was make sure I got from place to place, which for me was part of the adventure.
You download your vouchers as well as a package with lots of helpful hints and reminders for your upcoming travel.
Also if there is any issues my agent made herself available for me to contact her in case I needed help.
During my entire trip I never felt that I was alone in the sense that if any of the bookings didn’t go through or whatever I could reach her and we could solve it. She was very eager to ensure my trip went smoothly and that I had a great time.
I had never done anything like this before, it was my first trip abroad and had never even heard of a company such as this Italy travel company! I really was impressed with how they took care of my needs, and did so quickly and smoothly and with courtesy and professionalism the whole way through.
My Vespa tour of Tuscanny!!!! Wow I can’t even begin to describe what a thrill this was, to do the quintessential Italian thing by riding a Vespa and then through the countryside of Tuscanny! We made several stops as well as lunch at a Vineyard and wine tasting.
Cooking lesson in Mazzano, just outside of Rome. So much fun, great to have hands on experience with the food and of course eating a great meal.
Finding my way around Rome on the Metro! I didn’t think I’d be able to figure that out, but it was actually pretty easy, but also can be confusing especially when another language is involved.
The amount of food everywhere, was a huge thrill for me. I never wanted for anything at anytime, and the fact that people were out late at night eating, walking around, drinking wine, beer, coffee whatever, it was just the best, as it suites my lifestyle far more than how we are all in by ten or earlier in North America.
Swimming in the beautiful Mediterranean Sea! I had wanted to do this my whole life and finally got to cool off in that clear water and it was a real treat.
I think the only thing I would do differently is spend more time in certain places and maybe less time in others, but that’s not something you can know until you go and visit. I would want to spend more time in some of the smaller villages and definitely more time in the sea cooling off.
I would also go on more excursions outside of the city or one’s that were a little off the beat and track, even if they were in the city.
