My son and I were well taken care of from the moment we landed in Santiago until we departed. Our guide and driver were very conscientious and always were aware of our needs.
we had never been to Chile and relied on our travel advisor to plan the trip. In hindsight I should have been more involved in each part of the planning process as there were duplications and some areas that could have been streamlined.
Over all the trip was memorable and all guides and drivers were very helpful.
Our stay at the hotel in Puerto Varas was hands down the highlight of the trip. Hotel and staff were superb and met our every need. The personal guide who handled all the excursions could not have been any better. She made our stay! Not only did they inquire and meet every “want” but anticipated many. Whitewater rafting, kayaking and hiking exceeded expectations. It was difficult for other locations to compare, however, the stay at the Vineyards in Casablanca was very nice. Also, we would have never chosen to do the dinner at a private house in Santiago but it turned out to be very enjoyable and a highlight of the trip.
Santiago was a disappointment. Not sure why. An overall city tour would have been nice. The bike tour and the graffiti tour overlapped. I would have just done one- the bike which included graffiti.
Not sure if I would have stopped at a vineyard on the way to Valparaíso as we were staying two nights at another vineyard. Would have included the visit to the vineyard with our stay at Casablanca Vineyards or gone to Casablanca from Valparaíso. Too much back and forth. .
In hindsight I would have made a day trip to Valparaíso from Santiago and stayed only one night at Casablanca Vineyards. I then would have included a 2-3 night visit to the desert region. This would have added a little to the cost but would have been worth it. TRAVEL COMPANY COMMENTS:Dear Mr. N,Thank you very much for taking the time to send us your detailed feedback. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the excursions and that all the guides were professional and knowledgeable. Our team works hard to get the best guides in each destination, which keeps us one of the best-ranked companies.Regarding the dinner experience with locals in Santiago, we're glad you enjoyed it. It always surprises people! About the Graffiti walking tour duplicated with a part of the bike tour, we will take special notice on this and not combine them in the future. Of course, adding the Atacama Desert would have been great, but it is a destination that requires 3 nights as a minimum to enjoy the highlights of the area and not be affected by the altitude.Your hotel in Puerto Varas is great and we were sure you were going to have a great time there as well as the vineyard. We hope you keep unforgettable memories of the beautiful Iguazu Falls and hope to welcome you again soon,Warm regards from sunny Buenos Aires.
