Our travel agent at this safari tour company, provided both excellent planning services and was very responsive when we had two travel glitches. Both involved a national airline which we would advise travelers to avoid if at all possible. Our flight to Windhoek from Capetown was delayed several hours, then made an unscheduled stop. Our agent worked with the transfer company and the charter airline to get us to Soussusvlei before sundown thus saving the day. The second instance: the airline cancelled our flight from Windhoek to Victoria Falls without notifying us or the travel agency. So that we would not lose the entire day in Victoria Falls we contacted the charter company. They sent a plane for us and our travel company picked up the cost (about $7500) and reimbursed us for meals and taxis. This is service par excellence!
Our agent chose some beautiful properties, executed our wishes, advised us when asked, and was very responsive. Our only suggestion: Some of the properties (Swakopmund and Windhoek) required use of a taxi to get to restaurants and local sites. But since we didn't ask for that, the company can't be blamed.
This is a responsible, classy operation! If you book with them you can be assured that you'll be in good hands. Thank you!
We are seasoned travelers having been to many African, Asian, and South American countries over the past 20 years. We generally travel independently and have used local agents in the past to help plan and book the trip. None have surpassed this safari tour company. We loved: Capetown/area, Sossusvlei, Etosha (Ongava Reserve), Victoria Falls, and Chose Game Park. The varied landscapes, people and animals made for an exciting adventure. Special praise is due the Hoodia Lodge in Sossusvlei (gorgeous vistas), Table Bey Hotel (beautiful and perfect location at Victoria Harbor), Ongava Tented Camp (Ongava Reserve/Etosha National Park.)
Special kudos to the charter plane company! The planes were single engine, 6 passenger, comfortable, flying at low altitudes (great views) and courteous/competent/attentive pilots. Loved the experience!!!
We'd eliminate our two nights in Swakopmund. The big draw is a large flamingo colony at Walvis Bay, but these are migratory birds and were not in Namibia at the time of our visit (May). We'd also request that when in a town, the hotels be more centrally located enabling us to walk to restaurants and points of interest.
Five days in and around Cape Town was not enough. Retrospectively, I would add at least one night (two would be better) in the wine lands, and several days traveling the garden route. Eliminate Swakopmund and add those days to the Cape Town area.
