Lima – International Arrival
Your adventure will begin once your plane touches down at Lima's International Airport. Once you clear customs, you will be greeted by a private driver and transferred to your luxurious accommodation in Lima's neighborhood of Miraflores. You can explore the lush parks and carefully manicured gardens of this beautiful neighborhood. In the evening, you will venture to Lima's downtown. Here, you will indulge in a fine dining experience that will allow you to choose from a plethora of dining options. You can cheers to your first night in this enchanting city with a glass of Peru's national pisco sour.
Cusco – Uncover Qorikancha
This morning, you will fly to Cusco from Lima. By mid-morning, you will be able to look out your plane window and see the looming mountain peaks of the Andean mountain range. Quechua women in beautifully adorned dresses will gather in the central Plaza de Armas to sell local handicrafts, and backpackers will be walking the perimeter of the plaza. You will spend the day exploring the best-preserved remnants of the ancient Inca Empire. First, you will journey down the energetic Avenida del Sol to Qorikancha, which is the ancient Inca Sun Temple. Later this afternoon, you will experience the spirited atmosphere of the local culture at the San Pedro Market. You will even be provided with the opportunity to sample choclo, which is a thick-kernelled corn that is native to the region.
Chinchero – Scenic Tour of the Sacred Valley
Today, you will embark on a trip from Cusco to one of the most intriguing villages in the Sacred Valley: Chinchero. Once a point of rest and relaxation for the Inca elite, Chinchero is now a mixture of immersive culture lessons and breathtaking views of the Andes Mountains. In the village, your guide will lead you to a culture class, where you will learn about the community's unique yarn-dyeing practices that are executed solely with natural herbs, roots, and foliage. Later today, you will witness more of the Sacred Valley as you venture to the salt mines of Maras. You will also visit the ruins of Ollantaytambo.
Aguas Calientes – UNESCO Ruins of Machu Picchu
Today, you will venture to the city of Aguas Calientes and summit the famed UNESCO World Heritage Site of Machu Picchu. From Ollantaytambo, you will board a train car for the ruins. By mid-morning, you will arrive in the village of Aguas Calientes, which is located at the base of the ruins. You will stop briefly at your hotel, where you can unpack your things before indulging in one of the greatest experiences that Peru has to offer. With your guide, you will ride up the switchback mountains and climb higher than the clouds. You will spend the day uncovering the treasures of this ancient citadel, including Sacred Rock, the Temple of Three Windows, the Royal Tomb, and the House of the Nobility.
Cusco – Cuy Sampler Event
When you return to Cusco, you will explore the ruins at Tambomachay before experiencing the finest food of Cusco when you attend a cuy sampling event. Your day will begin with a tour of Tambomachay, which is one of the most prized relics of the Inca Empire. As your guide leads you around the grounds, you will also learn about the ancient aqueducts that pass through the site. In the afternoon, you will return to the city of Cusco, where you will participate in an exciting cuy sampler event in the esteemed neighborhood of San Blas. Puno/Lake Titicaca – Uros Islands Tour
In the morning, you will depart for an unforgettable trip to Lake Titicaca, which is the highest navigable lake in the world. The neighboring city of Puno hosts many popular events year-round, including Carnival, which is the third-largest celebration of its kind in all of South America. After breakfast, you will set sail on Lake Titicaca and partake on a day-long cruise of this illustrious region of Peru. Soon, you will arrive on the Uros Islands, which are located at the center of the lake. As you dock at one of the dozens of these islands, you will meet people of the Uros community and learn more about the reed-weaving techniques that they employ to build their homes.
Lima – Barranco District and Ceviche Dinner
Today, you will return to Lima and venture to the exciting neighborhood that is known as the Barranco District. When you are ready, you will join your guide in front of your hotel. From here, your guide will lead you on a scenic bike tour to the vibrant streets of the Barranco District. You will soon make your way to the beach, where you will begin to explore the neighborhood on foot. In the evening, you will return by bike to Miraflores, where you will indulge in the region's most famous dish to date: the tantalizing seafood medley known as ceviche. After dinner, you can stroll along the promenade or spend the evening however you see fit.
Lima – Departure
Today will be full of opportunities for self-exploration as you capture photos, stroll through Parque del Amor or Parque Grau, sample Peruvian tamales, and shop for keepsakes to take home. Your leisurely morning will be followed by a final lunch along Peru's coastline, where you can watch paragliders as they glide along the horizon. After quenching your thirst with one last fresh fruit juice, it will be time to pack your bags and meet your private transportation in front of your Miraflores hotel. Soon, you will arrive at Lima's international airport, where your guide will lead you to your connecting flights.
