Every Tuesdays and Saturdays from Kota Kinabalu with a minimum of 02 paxs.

Detailed Itinerary 

Day 1

0800 hrs, we depart from the hotel for a 02 hrs drive to the Kinabalu Park, the country’s first World Heritage Site. The Park is located at about 1,500 m above sea level and is part of the Crocker Range. You will enjoy superb mountain views along the journey. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and proceed for lunch. After lunch we will explore one of the many trails which leads through the tropical Mountain Oak and Chestnut Forest.
Kinabalu Park is a botanist’s paradise with over a thousand species of Orchids, numerous different Rhododendrons and Pitcher Plants. The Park also serves as a bird watcher’s paradise as most species of birds found here are endemic to the montane region. Stay overnight at Kinabalu Pine Resort or similar. (Lunch and Dinner)

Day 2

Breakfast. At 0930 hrs, we will proceed to the Poring Hotsprings, one of the main attractions in the Park.. The hot sulphuric water from the spring is channeled into open-air Japanese-style baths, soothing for the tired limbs and believed to be therapeutic by others. Lowland Dipterocarp Forest makes most of the vegetation at Poring, It is an excellent place to view birds and some mammals. We will take a stroll on the100 feet high tree top canopy walk for a bird’s eye view of the Tropical Rainforest and an excellent opportunity to observe wildlife above the grounds.
At 1430 hrs, we will make our way back to the Resort. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight Kinabalu Pine Resort or similar. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Day 3

Breakfast. Our overland trip to Sandakan will take about 05-06 hrs. Enroute we will stop at the Sabah Tea Plantation, the largest tea producing factory in Sabah. In the guided tour, you will learn the process from how raw tea is process and packed for export. You can even buy some tea leaves from the rainforest region to take home as souvenirs. The rest of the day is at leisure upon arriving at our destination. Overnight Sabah hotel. (Breakfast/Lunch)

Day 4

Breakfast. Depart at 0900 hrs to the jetty to catch the 2-hour boat ride to Selingan Island. Check-in upon arrival and you can proceed for lunch. The afternoon is free at leisure for swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling or walking around the island for some possible sightings of wildlife that inhabit the island. At 1930 hrs, dinner will be served at the cafeteria. Since there is no way of knowing when the turtles will come ashore, while waiting you can visit the Information Center and treat yourself to a slide show featuring information of the turtle park and turtles. Your guide will alert you when magical moment arrives as the famous green turtles swim ashore to lay their eggs. Overnight in simple chalet. (Share bathroom) (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Day 5

Breakfast. Depart Selingan Island on the 0700 hrs boat. Upon arrival at the Sandakan Jetty, you will be met and transfer to Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary. This Rehabilitation Centre houses the orphaned Orang Utans, those who were captured illegally or injured. Once rehabilated, they are sent back to the wild. The Centre also incorporated education to the public on conservation, research and assistance to other endangered species such as captive breeding of the rare and endangered rhinoceros.
(Breakfast, Lunch (simple local lunch)).
From the Centre, we will travel overland to the Kinabatangan River where the Sukau village is located. The ride will pass through picturesque countryside, local villages and plantations. We will visit the Gomantong Caves, homes to millions of bats and swiflets. The swiflets’ nest are collected for the famous Chinese delicacy, the edible bird nest soup. Upon arrival, check-in to the Lodge along the Kinabatangan River bank. The lower reach of Kinabatangan River has the greatest concentration of wildlife in Borneo. The most famous creature of all, guaranteed to be sighted is undoubtedly the bizarre Proboscis Monkeys, endemic only the island of Borneo. Late afternoon, we will take a river boat cruise in search of the Proboscis Monkeys, different species of birds and wildlife. Dinner will be served at the Lodge.

Day 6

Wake up to the sound of Borneo’s wildlife!
At 0600 hrs, we embark on a 1 ½ hrs boat trip to the Ox-Bow Lakes to see some of the beautiful birds species of the Kinabatangan region which includes the elegant egrets, several species of kingfishers, the oriental darter which dives underwater to catch its prey, brightly coloured bee-eaters and hornbills. Return to the Lodge for breakfast. At 0900 hrs, we depart overland to Sandakan airport for your onward flight. Tour Ends. (Breakfast)

Day 7

Note :
Approximately 56 km stretch of the road from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan is unsealed, therefore a certain amount of discomfort is expected.
We reserve the right to change the itinerary due to availability of the lodges.

Sweater, hat, raincoat, good walking shoes, long sleeve shirt, T-shirt, long trousers, shorts, torchlight, insect repellent, camera with fast film and sunglasses.
