Places Visited 

The package has three different destinations:
Pantanal, in the Southern Region of Pantanal, in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul – mid-west of Brazil;
Amazon, located on the north of Brazil - at the State of Amazonas;
and the Marvelous City: Rio de Janeiro, located in the southeast of Brazil, 600 km from São Paulo City.

Detailed Itinerary 

Day 1:

Transfer without guide from Campo Grande airport to Caiman Lodge - duration of 4 hours. Check in at the lodge.
Activities at Caiman start very early in the morning taking full advantage of the day to observe the wildlife. After that, the guests return to the lodges, have lunch and rest. In the afternoon it is time to go out for an afternoon excursion.

Some activities:
Nocturnal Spotlighting: Provides the opportunity to observe nocturnal animals. One of the highlights is when the caimans are spotted.

Biking: Pantanal is very flat, enabling pleasant and bicycle rides. The bicycle paths and distance vary according to the group profile.

Canadian Canoe Trip: The guests row in three-seat Canadian canoes around the bays of the lodges and contemplate the nearby vegetation and water birds and admire the fantastic Pantanal's sunset.

Photographic Safari: Done in especially adapted vehicles, this type of trip enables the access to the most distant places of the farm. During the photographic safari, it is possible to observe the peculiarities and the contrasts of the vegetation, as well as a large variety of animals.

Horseback riding: It's the most traditional way to get to know the marshlands of Pantanal.

Walking: A Farm Tour through the surroundings of the lodge. It is a magical moment where the tourists get very close to the caimans with all the safety provided by the guides. Walking in the forests allows the guests to observe small animals and the region's vegetation. It is the activity that provides the greatest contact with the environment.

Day 4:

Transfer out without guide from Caiman Lodge to Campo Grande Airport. Arrival at Manaus. Private transfer in with guide at the Manaus Airport (MAO) to hotel. Check in at Hotel Tropical Manaus.

Day 5:

Leave the Hotel Tropical Manaus landing-stage at 14:30 hrs. Presentation on board of the Amazon Clipper about its staff, routes and facilities. Navigation to the Pagodão river (tributary of the Negro). Canoe trip shortly before sunset, returning after dark, with the possibility of observing nocturnal animals and perceive the change in the forest as the night falls. Dinner. Navigation to Açu Creek or nearby tributaries.

Day 6:

Canoe trip at sunrise for bird watching. Breakfast. Walk in the forest with commentaries of a specialist in the Amazon and observe the exuberance of the fauna and flora. Visit to a "caboclo" family (locals of the Amazon) and witness their way of life by seeing how the health and education are dealt with and also the preparation of manioc flour (the main food of the Amazon) among other things. Lunch. Fish for “piranhas”. Navigation through the Anavilhanas, the world's largest fresh water archipelago, more then 1500km from the ocean. Dinner. Night trip to see caimans and possibly other species, depending on the season.

Day 7:

Breakfast. Visit to the village of Novo Airão where we will be able to see handcraft boat yards - where the "AMAZON CLIPPER" was built - sawmills, market and other activities. Navigation to Praia Grande or another beach. Swimming, if conditions permit and observation of the vegetation of sandy areas. Lunch. Canoe trip in lake Acajatuba or adjacent lake domains to see typical flora (rubber trees, Brazil nuts and palm trees of various types). Dinner.

Day 8:

Canoe trip at sunrise for bird watching. Breakfast. Navigation to the "Meeting of the Waters". Return to the Tropical Hotel. Arrival at 11:30 hrs.
Private transfer out with guide from the Hotel Tropical Manaus to Manaus Airport (MAO). Flight to Rio de Janeiro. Private transfer with guide in from GIG airport to Hotel Mar Ipanema. Check in at the hotel.

Day 9:

An 8-hour tour to get to know the geography and urban life of Rio visiting the amazing statue of the Christ (elected one of the Seven Wonders of the World), the Tijuca Forest (one of the biggest urban forest in the world) and the Santa Teresa district. From there, we will take the old tram over the aqueduct to downtown, where we will have lunch. After lunch, we will walk around the downtown area, getting to know its main historical places and multicultural aspects.

Day 10:

Free day to relax and enjoy the “Marvelous City”.

Day 11:

Half day tour to the Sugar Loaf. We will start our day walking through a path that takes us along the foot of the Sugar Loaf through the lush, green forest along the Atlantic Ocean. We will be able to appreciate spectacular views of the ocean and the mountains. After our walk, we will continue, by cable car, up to the Morro da Urca, the middle station on the way to the Sugar Loaf. From there we will continue by another cable car up to the 396 meters high Sugar Loaf mountain to enjoy the stunning view.

Day 12:

Morning free. Check out at the hotel. Private transfer out with guide from hotel to GIG airport.
