Places Visited

Bhutan – “the land of thunder dragon,” is one of the most picturesque and serene places on earth. It is the only country in the world to retain the Tantric form of Mahayana Buddhism as its official religion. The Buddhist faith pays a fundamental role in the cultural, ethical, and sociological development of Bhutan and its people. This 14 day journey offers a rare insight into the nation of Bhutan. While urban settlements have sprung up in the process of modernization, the majority of the people in Bhutan still live in small rural villages. Farming is the most common occupation found here. As the altitude rises, crops give way to cattle and yak, breeding with herds grazing in the high pastures.
