DAY 1, FRI: USA:Depart USA for an overnight flight to Vienna.
DAY 2, SAT: VIENNAUpon arrival in Vienna, you will be met by a Homeric Tours representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is at leisure. This evening, enjoy a typical Viennese dinner at a typical local Heurigen restaurant. (B,D)
DAY 3, SUN: VIENNAEnjoy breakfast at your hotel. Today, your guided morning tour will include a visit to the Hofburg Palace, once the seat of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and view the Belvedere Palace, Prater amusement park, the United Nations buildings, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and other vivid reminders ofthe city’s imperial history. This afternoon you are free to explore this beautiful city. (B)
DAY 4, MON: VIENNA / BUDAPESTAfter breakfast, journey eastbound by motorcoach or first class train to Budapest, better known as the Paris of the East. Upon arrival at your hotel the rest of your day is at leisure. (B,D)
DAY 5, TUE: BUDAPESTAfter breakfast, your morning sightseeing tour includes views of the decorative Parliament building, seat of the National Assembly; Vaci Utca, a pedestrian street lined with shops and restaurants; Heroes’ Square with the Millennium Memorial, 118 foot high Corinthian Church, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The balance of the day is at leisure. (B)
DAY 6, WED: BUDAPEST / KRAKOWAfter breakfast, the road to Krakow winds through the lovely hills and countryside of Slovakia, past the Tatras Mountains and into the great plains of Poland. A relaxing dinner in Krakow is planned upon arrival. (B,D)
DAY 7, THU: KRAKOWThis morning, your sightseeing tour starts with a visit to the Wawel Hill, viewing the Royal Castle and visiting the Royal Cathedral. Enjoy a walking tour of the Old Town where you will visit the Main Market Square, Renaissance Cloth Hall and St. Mary’s Church. Your afternoon is free to explore the city. (B)
DAY 8, FRI: KRAKOW / WARSAWEnjoy breakfast at your hotel. Perhaps join an optional trip to one of the most somber memorials of the past, Auschwitz Concentration Camp. Later,journey to Czestochowa and visit the Yasna Gora Monastery, known for the blackened picture of the Virgin Mary popularly called the “Black Madonna”. In the late afternoon, arrive in Poland’s capital city, Warsaw. (B,D)
DAY 9, SAT: WARSAWThe 700 year old capital is a symbol of Polish nationhood and the will to survive against great odds. Your sightseeing tour includes a drive along thefamous Royal Route from magnificent Castle Square to Lazienski Park and Palace, summer residence of the last king of Poland. Pass by the Palace of Science and Culture (known as a “wedding cake”), the Saxon Gardens, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Monument to the Heroes of Warsaw Ghetto and the Barbican. Continue with the walking tour of the Old Town, the Old Market Square and St. John’s Cathedral. The rest of the day is free for relaxing, shopping, a stroll through the city or an optional tour late afternoon Chopin concert. (B)
DAY 10, SUN: WARSAW / USAAfter breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
