Outdoor Adventure in Lima
Arrive in Lima and witness the beauty and diversity of the City of Kings. The hustle of the big city rises around you while the grandeur of the historic center glistens in the warm sun. Each neighborhood in Lima offers sensational and diverse life, and a distinct energy. After settling into your beautiful accommodation you will have the day to explore the city. Begin your outdoor adventure through Peru with a visit to the fabulous neighborhood of Miraflores. The neighborhood sits along the edge of the city near a trendy collection of restaurants and stores nestled along the beach. The sweet scent of lemon citrus from the countless cevicherias mixes with the salty essence of the sea.
While wandering through Miraflores you will come across the magnificent Incan pyramid of Huaca Pucllana. The structure sits in the open air and is gilded in bright sunlight. The stone blocks are tiered, creating stepping-stones that climb into the sky and give the structure its pyramidal shape. The site is quiet as people explore the ruins, looking to connect with the remnants of the ancient civilization that built the monument sometime between AD 300 and 700. The sun drifts across the sky as the lights surrounding the pyramid blink into existence. From the rich buildings of the historical center to the decadent history of Huaca Pucllana, your outdoor adventure in Peru has just begun.

Your Peru vacation begins with your arrival in Lima. This capital city of Peru is filled with diverse neighborhoods that are filled with culture, perfumed with a variety of herbs, and settled with the expanse of the metropolis. Explore the city from the historic center to the outlying neighborhoods and see, taste, and experience all they have to offer. In Cusco you will witness the beautiful remnants of Spain within the architecture of the city, now inundated with the Andean culture that has surrounded the Incan capital for centuries. The stone walls of Sacsayhuaman tower over the city. Explore the fortress and witness the incredible architectural feat along with the view of Cusco from above before making your way into the Sacred Valley. Within the valley you will venture to the secluded Amaru village to witness the locals’ colorful textiles which often match the purple glow of the quinoa during harvest.
Your journey continues as you climb on a mountain bike and cycle through the hills of the Andes en route to the famous saltpans that climb the mountainside collecting salt from the local spring. The early morning brings with it the clouds as you hike along the Inca Trail, through the Cloud Forest and up to the Sun Gate where you look down on Machu Picchu for the first time and venture into its open city. The following morning you will watch the sun rise over the mountains from within the Lost City where the glistening light burns away the remaining cloud cover. Board the train to Ollantaytambo where the centuries-old village remains and bustles with life while the ruins of the fortress ascend the mountainside in tiers. Return to Cusco to explore the city, from the whitewater of the river that courses through the valley, to the Spanish architecture that decorates the streets.
