Travel Review: Private Jordan and Egypt Tour

Jarrod Y. (urbannomad)

Jarrod's Review

What are your overall comments on the trip and travel company?

The tour packed a lot in considering we only had about a week. The tour was organized and there was good communication before and during the tour. There was someone to meet you at the airport, and someone always walked you through security when you flew out as well. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Seeing the lost city of Petra in Jordan was our favorite part of the trip. We also enjoyed the Egyptian Pyramids and visiting the Dead Sea. All of the tour guides, drivers and people in the countries were so warm and friendly, but Firas, our driver in Jordan, was exceptional. He made suggestions that made our trip even better.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

While the hotel in Egypt was a nice one, it was not in our ideal location. We would have preferred a location where you could walk to nearby restaurants and cafes but it was in Giza and pretty isolated. We would do more independent research on the hotels. And definitely plan a longer trip because there was so much to see! One negative: We felt extremely rushed on the morning we visited Coptic Cairo. We had plenty of time but felt the guide rushed us through with barely even time to take photos. Another was we kind of felt our guide hung us out to dry when he handed us off to a camel guide at the pyramids. We felt that was somewhat of an endorsement about the camel guide's honesty and integrity and then ended up getting ripped off. [The camel guide was not part of the Egypt travel company.]
