Richard's Review

What are your overall comments on the trip and travel company?

The trip was wonderful, one of our best if not the best we have taken. We went at a good time of year (late April)- before the crowds would start arriving in May and while the weather was comfortable. By visiting Istanbul, Cappadocia and the Aegean we felt as though we have taken three separate trips. This Turkey tour operator had provided good, knowledgeable guides. They were not given much time to arrange our trip, but they kept in contact with us, updated itineraries as we changed our mind and was honest about how and where to save on the trip expenses. A list of books from them allowed us to do some reading before we left.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

There was so much: the guide who took us to a wonderful dessert restaurant on the Asian side of Istanbul, the underground cities, cave hotels, fairy chimneys and other scenery in Cappadocia was unbelievable, and the guide took us to his grandmother's 300 year old voyage. The balloon ride was also an unforgettable experience To help keep down expenses, we rented a car in Izmir and were given suggested places to see, which was a tremendous help. The women who greeted our car at Herakleia provided us with a private tour of the site and one of them invited us into her home for tea. The guides offered so much information about life in Turkey now and in the past.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

If we could do this trip again, we would love to add a few more days and visit Anatalya and the Mediterranean area of Turkey. We might have gotten a earlier start so we could have gotten to Pamukkale or planned to stay over night.
