Our Spain travel company was quite simply the very best travel company we have ever experienced. Their guides were top-flight; the hotels they booked us in to were beyond our expectations; and their ability to resolve problems quickly and effectively was unmatched. And working with the staff was very, very pleasant.
There were so many memorable parts to our trip that it is hard to pick just a few. But perhaps the Gaudi architechture in Barcelona, the Guggenheim museum, Vejer de la Frontera (a small medieval town on the Southern Coast near Cadiz), and the Alhambra were special highlights. Plus tapas bars, long walks, and some great meals.
We would start in Barcelona and end in Madrid. We did not know any Spanish history when we started, and so all of the Goya paintings int he Prado were not very meaningful to us. Over the course of our trip we both read a lot of history and absorbed a lot more from our guides. Seeing the Goya paintings at the end would have been more meaningful.
