Overall we had a great time and we experienced everything that was at the top of our list. The hotels were very comfortable, even for a party of three, and the quality of the hotels was ideal. The tours were well timed, gave us a good feel for each city we visited and they were not too large. We never felt like we were being herded. The travel company was responsive to our needs. We had originally planned to go to Japan but after the nuclear disaster decided to go to Europe. The change in destination was nerve racking as you can imagine but the trip turned out to be great.
The most enjoyable parts of our trip were the variety that was built into our itinerary and the whole experience of Greece. We had a good mix of tours and free time throughout the trip. So we came back refreshed. Also, we got to explore a little on our own without feeling too uncomfortable. The hotels were nicely situated so that we could easily take public transportation without getting lost or feeling uncomfortable.
The trip was great! I would definitely go again and use the same company. The only thing I would have done differently was research the travel insurance company. It did not cover the penalty the airlines charged me for rebooking five weeks before the start of our trip even though, at the time, the State Department was advising against unnecessary travel to Japan. I've never been in a situation like this before so I would definitely research the insurance thoroughly the next time.
