Great trip, very well organized. we worked closely with Manal, from the Egypt travel agency, over a period of several weeks. She planned a perfect trip for us. There were a variety of activities, two very different guides who gave us different perspectives on the country, the culture and the religion. The accommodations she selected were very good, again we had a variety of places to stay. Everything was done in a timely manner. We were met by our guides at each stop, they were flexible and went out of their way to be sure that we saw everything we wanted.
The most spectacular site was the temple at Karnak at sunrise. in order to make every moment count we had taken the overnight train from Cairo to Luxor. The train trip was memorable, not necessarily the most enjoyable as the cabin was small and the food was marginal, but the fact that we arrived in Luxor at 5AM, were met by our very knowledgeable guide and driven to the temple before it opened made the train trip worth every uncomfortable moment. We were the first ones through the gate, it was our first site of an Egyptian temple., and it was ours, something we will always remember.
We would not change anything....we were completely satisfied with Gateway to Egypt. Having a local travel company makes a big difference. This is our second experience with Zicasso. We recommend them to anyone and everyone who will listen.
