Travel Review: Custom Tour of Croatia, Italy and Slovenia

Melissa's Review

What are your overall comments on the trip and travel company?

Croatia is a hidden gem (among Americans in particular). It is a beautiful country. Friendly, accomodating people, wonderfully fresh and organic food -particularly the fish, truffles, and the olive oil!! It was extremely helpful to work with a travel company residing in the country that we were visiting as we really had no familiarity. Our agent was extremely thorough, patient, creative, and a pleasure to work with. She helped us to design a trip that fit our needs and desires and it was wonderful. I would definitely use them again the next time I travel to Europe.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Croatia is a beautiful country and we were able to experience just about the entire country as we had rented a car. We loved the Istrian peninsula and our time in Hvar was wonderful. It was a shame that we did not budget enough time to spend at Plitvice as it is truly one of the most beautiful natural parks we've ever seen. Our little side trip to Venice was amazing as well. All told we booked 1600 miles on that little Peugot and visited 4 countries. We adored the food and wine-among the best we've ever had in our lifetime!

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

While we loved seeing all of the countryside, I would definitely drive less. 1600 miles is an awful lot of driving to do. I would also have spent more time if possible in Croatia as it was so terrific. It would have also been nice to have been able to spend more time in Slovenia as that is a beautiful country as well.
