Tom's Review
Again - my highest possible esteem, & therefore rating, for Analia. I gave her a very restrictive window of time, & not a single moment was not perfectly scheduled. Her choices of lodging were amazing - exactly what I had wanted - even though the individual hotel may have had issues - the little hiccup was more than compensated for by the Most Comfortable Bed I have EVER slept in (at the Hotel Babel, Buenos Aires)
I have mentioned the activities - but did not expect something as mundane as a visit to a Patagonian Estancia to be so welcoming & open to all types of discussion - for example, the guide & host Julian & we three guests (myself, a local travel agent trying the excursion for possible recommendations to his clients, & his wife, an Italian/Spanish interpreter & tour guide in her own right) discussing Argentine Politics as compared to those in the USA.
Knowing that even the unanticipated aspects, that could have ruined my vacation, were resolved.
My last internal, local flight, from Ushuaia to Buenos Aires, was cancelled due to a national airline pilot's strike - my agent's local representative stayed with me, from the pickup at my hotel, on the ride to & into the airport terminal, & intervened for me (I am not a native Spanish speaker) with the Aerolineas Argentinas ticket agent, and got my ticket changed to an earlier flight, on a much smaller aircraft, & even made sure I got my preferred window seat! I shall be EVER indebted to Pablo with Prestigio Tours, whom Analia & her company used in Ushuaia.
This was only the Most remarkable instance; everything else suggested by this Argentina travel company was excellent, & surpassed all my expectations. For example, I would not have booked myself on such an active choice of things, but I thoroughly enjoyed ALL of Analia's choices - from the hike on an active glacier, to the canoeing excursion in the waterways of Tierra Del Fuego, to even the Tango lesson & show (which I had thought would be super-touristy & unpleasant, but most certainly was NOT). I could not have done more, or had a more comprehensive visit, if I had planned something like this where I live in California!
I had a mishap - I left my brand new camera behind in my first hotel in Buenos Aires. Analia's local Agent, Lorena, went out of her way to go to that location, retrieve my camera, & return it to me when she retrieved me several days later upon my return to Buenos Aires from the south of Argentina. I still am working with Analia, in that I want to send a really nice gift to Lorena to show my gratitude - again, Analia & I have gotten together, & she "debriefed" me on my impressions of what I did & how things transpired. That meeting, I must say, was a very well spent hour, covering all aspects of my adventure.
I have not downloaded my pictures yet - but I have promised what few I WAS able to take, will be available to the travel company.
