We had a magical trip! Everything from Cape Town to Singita was such a treat and truly life changing.
I could not recommend this safari tour operator more. When I think about them and what makes the company so special there are three points that stand out.
1) The attention to finding a perfect trip for a diverse group of ages and interests was fantastic! From the specific activities to the hotels--even down to the personality of the guides, we felt this trip was created especially for us.
2) The flexibility and capabilities to make activity changes without problem as we went along our trip was such a bonus. We felt as if we had them with us at all times to be our travel specialists not only in the planning stages but also throughout our trip!
3) Then once we left our guides in Cape Town, we still felt that every detail was covered so we could relax and enjoy. We knew that if we were scheduled to be picked up, someone would be there. It allowed us to travel throughout the wonderful country of South Africa care free.
They also arranged a very special and fun birthday celebration for David. It was wonderful! It totally surprised him and the staff was so much fun! Just wonderful that we were able to celebrate on the day!
The guides, Tim and Andy were wonderful! They were the perfect combination of guides for our trip! So fun and easy...they really worked fantastic with our diverse group.
The company does such a wonderful job with details and I will always travel with them and have already recommended 2 friends.
The safari at Singita Ebony Lodge....well, there is just nothing like it!
At Singita, we had leopards under our deck -- the mother leopard killed a bushbuck (antelope) and dragged it there. For the next few days the leopards hung out there to eat and play. I never thought I would be so excited to have a dead bush buck under our deck but it was fantastic!! Stayed up almost every night watching the cubs play on the porch – see the pictures here. They were beautiful!
The hotel in Winelands, La Residence, was the most unreal, beautiful place we have even been.
The Elephant Camp at Victoria Falls was such a great lodge. Victoria Falls is wonderful. We also did the gorge swing which was fabulous!
Walking with the lions activity in Victoria Falls turned out to be amazing. We just happened to find an opening but I know they were booked up and there were several people at the camp that wanted to do that and couldn't get in. It was a really neat place and such a great teaser to Singita and we are so glad Deborah suggested it.
I could not critique any part of the trip! There are two things I would give feedback on for your future travelers.
The Elephant Camp in Victoria Falls was a very special place and the elephant back safari was definitely a highlight. There wasn't the interaction with the animals that we expected. The elephants are kept in a different part of the camp so you don't sit on your porch and watch them. If travelers were there to relax and read, it is great but if they are active like us...you might need to schedule things during the day.
Because La Residence is such a beautiful hotel, instead of eating at the restaurant in town, I think I would have preferred to maybe shop at the town but then have dinner at the hotel and have the time to really enjoy the place.
We enjoyed every moment. I have already sent Deborah’s information to two of my friends wanting to plan a trip. I will always recommend this company highly!
