I LOVED working with our China travel agent, Mark, in planning all the details of this trip. He was prompt with his answers, always courteous, and it made the choosing part of it actually a learning process.
It was very comforting to know that I had 24/7 access to our China tour operator. Mark helped solve many difficulties that arose unexpectedly during our trip and was always pleasant and efficient.
So many... it was a very long trip (5 weeks). Highlights were the Zhang Yimou shows on the West Lake (Hangzhou) and in Lijiang, Yunnan minority show (I think in Kunming), and the Naxi orchestra in Lijiang(most players were older than 80 and still had a twinkle in their eyes!)
I would allow more time in each city, as I felt rushed sometimes.(Both my husband and I are over 60 and moving every 2 days was quite tiresome!)
This would mean probably dividing the trip in two different trips.
