African Safari Review: Luxury Safari to South Africa - Sabi Sands / Kruger, Zambia - Victoria Falls, Mauritius, etc.

Phillippa J. (philiferg)

Phillippa's Review

What are your overall comments on the trip and travel company?

Fantastic. Best trip ever. It was a rather complicated trip with several stops but Elizabeth, our African safari travel agent, was great at identifying options and helping us decide. All the accommodations were luxury and the service at every stop was fantastic. The people who met us and escorted us were all professional and very helpful.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

There were so many. Victoria Falls is truly magnificent. We did two Gorge Jumps in Zimbabwe while staying at Elephant Camp. And we rode an elephant. My daughters tried the exotic foods including the worm.

The Safari was superb. There was nothing we didn't like. Got to see everything on Safari except a Lion. Our tracker said the lions were in a meeting.

Mauritius was the most beautiful beach I've ever seen - and I've seen many.

Oh and the food. Superb at every accommodation - freshly made and delicious. The food in Mauritius was especially good - buffet had many many vegetarian choices so much so that I lost a few pounds on the last few days.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Would have gotten a flight from airport to Arathusa Safari Lodge. I didn't know that it was a 3 hour drive on Safari type road in a mini van. I paid extra to fly back to the airport and that was a 20 minute flight. Arathusa staff (Ashley) was very efficient making those last-minute arrangements. The pilot came in the night before so we could leave early the next day - very impressive!

Otherwise I wouldn't change a thing.
