We love to learn about China's history, its recent developments, and what the future might bring. Knowledgeable tour guides are important to us. The tour doesn't need to be guided the whole time, but we do want good tour guides when visiting historical sites. If traveling with a group, the group size shouldn't be too big (15-20 people max).

We have an 11 year-old & a 15 year-old kid with us, so the itinerary shouldn't be too rushed or strenuous. Clean food and accommodations are very important to us. We prefer accommodations with more local ambiance if available. We typically stay at four-star hotels but are flexible to have a few nights at five-star or three-star hotels.
