Anastasia's Africa is a highly personalized safari operator with over 54 years of experience designing customized safaris for budgets of all sizes to every superb destination in Africa from Southern Africa, Eastern Africa and Egypt and Morocco to the Indian Ocean Islands.

Our clients are often surprised to find out that we start with a blank piece of paper and 100% of what we do is custom safaris and delight in sharing our deep passion and love for the bush personally with you rather than passing you on to reservationists. When you contact us, one of the secrets of our success is that you will speak directly with Anastasia Mann (our Founder), Karin Jones (our Managing Director) or Gretchen Maslanka, our most Senior Colleague, who each has vast experience in Africa. One of them will personally design the journey with you commencing with an individualized "conversation" to hand tailor an itinerary through this magical world. After talking through your ideas and preferences we will be in a position to design a safari that will encompass the very essence of your expectations.

Anastasia, Karin and Gretchen have 70 years combined in the safari business.

Karin (who started in 1987) is recognized in the travel industry as a speaker and trainer having taught hundreds of other travel professionals on how to design and sell safaris. Anastasia has been visiting the nations of Africa for 30 years, and while it was 'love at first sight', and with each subsquent visit has fell more in love with the African bush. She urges everyone to visit. Gretchen, started in the safari business 15 years ago, and is an old safari hand, having traveled extensively for years throughout the continent as well as planning safaris for equally as long.

Our operational team members include Kimberly Rudd in the USA -- who handles logistics such as air and creates the hand-made covers and cards for our final documents; Jenny Peers - our local operations manager in Cape Town - who heads up our Southern Africa office and David Sugden, one of East Africa's top safari guides (was former head of A&K in Nairobi prior to working with us) who leads the way in East Africa from our operations office in Nairobi. Jenny and David will be looking after you in 'real time" Africa. and both reflect the hearts and soul of our company and this extraordinary continent.

We recognize that it is more important than ever to get superb value and quality. Our direct relationships and the fact that we don’t produce thick glossy brochures full of 'cookie-cutter' trips allow us to keep our overheads at a minimum, so we don’t need to pad our pricing. Thus, we offer significant savings on an intimate, insider’s view of Africa coupled with the opportunity to have profound life-changing experiences (and bundles of fun!)

The emphasis is in partnering with the more personal and exclusive smaller safari camps and award winning environmentally harmonious lodges who work closely with the local people, offering high levels of hospitality and uniqueness as well as an overall authentic experience. We use 4x4 safari vehicles for game drives in preference to vans, highly recommend top private guides to help clients interpret the experience, as well as moving people on foot, horseback and the option of light aircraft transfers as an alternative to driving by road between the wildlife areas.
