Detailed Description
Your cultural tourism experience begins with ....
... time to recover, an orientation dinner, city heritage, an introduction to Vietnamese art, and two nights in Hanoi
Once you've arrived and settled in, we'll arrange a light-hearted introduction to Vietnam's rural culture, and meet you at an orientation 'Welcome' dinner to sample Vietnamese cuisine and talk about your tour. The following day will be taken up with the cultural aspects of the city's history, architecture, traditions, customs, and so on.
Meals: one dinner and one lunch
Escort/guide: transfer from airport to hotel and evening, and the following daytime
A full day and night on Ha Long Bay, and a night in Hanoi:
After an early-morning drive across the Red River Delta, your boat will be waiting for you at Ha Long Bay. Although there'll be time for sightseeing, the focus will be on the fascinating geology, archaeology, history and culture of Vietnam's most famous natural heritage area. On the way back, you'll stop off at a craft village specialising in ceramics
Meals: two breakfasts, two lunches and one dinner
Guide: fully escorted from leaving to returning to your hotel
Two nights in Hue:
After a morning meeting some of Hanoi's artists in their workplaces, and a flight to Hue, you'll have a day and a half to soak up the unique atmosphere of Hue, steeped in Imperial heritage.
Meals: two breakfasts, two lunches and one dinner
Guide: fully escorted except during the flight
Two nights in Hoi An:
The view of the coast and Danang from the top of the Hai Van Pass demands some serious photography, as does Hoi An, a charming gem in Vietnam's cultural crown. Its architecture shows the influence of the Japanese and Chinese merchants from its days as one of South-east Asia's major ports.
The bustling ancient town is a complete contrast to the majestic silence of the ruined Cham towers at the My Son Sanctuary.
Meals: two breakfasts and one lunch
Guide: from leaving Hue to approximately noon on the following day
Time to leave!
You'll be free until your car arrives to take you to Danang airport for Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
Meals: one breakfast
