Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 :
Arrive at Oliver Tambo International Airport and get transferred to your hotel. Day at leisure to rest or do shopping in the many good shopping malls close to your hotel. Overnight: Camping & Comfort - Airport Grand Hotel, Johannesburg; Luxury - Forum Homini Boutique Hotel close to the Cradle of Mankind World Heritage Site.
Day 2 :
Depart Eastwards towards the "Lowveld" area. Visit the Sudwala Caves Cultural Centre, Pilgrim's Rest Historical Town, Gods Window, Bourkes Luck Potholes and Blyde River Canyon viewpoints before stopping for the day. Overnight: Camping - Aventura Blyde Poort Campsite, Comfort - Aventura Blyde Poort Bungalows, Luxury - Mount Sheba Country Lodge
Day 3 :
Past the town of Hazyview before arriving at the Kruger National Park - home for the next few days. Put up camp/ refresh yourself before going out on safari in search of wildlife. The rest of the day is spent doing gamedrives or relaxing at camp. The luxury tour visits the Sabi Sabi Private Reserve for their all inclusive luxury safari. Overnight: Camping - Kruger NP Campsite, Comfort - Kruger NP Bungalows, Luxury - Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve
Day 4 :
Gamedrives and Optional actvities in and around the Kruger National Park or Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve. Overnight: Camping - Kruger NP Campsite, Comfort - Kruger NP Bungalows, Luxury - Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve
Day 5 :
Depart for the Kingdom of Swaziland today! Visit the local market in Mbabane to stock up on some curious and experience the friendly culture of the Swazi people. Visit the community based candle factory close to Malkerns. Gamedrives in Mlilwane Sanctuary. Overnight: Camping - Mlilwane Campsite, Comfort - Mlilwane Traditional Beehive Huts, Luxury - Mkhaya Game Reserve - Stone Camp
Day 6 :
Do optional activities or take yourself on a self guided hiking trail through the park and between the wild animals! Gamewalks, gamedrives, horseback riding, bicycle hire, visit a traditional village or healer etc. The luxury tour has inclusive gamedrives and walks in the Mkhaya Game Reserve. Overnight: Camping - Mlilwane Campsite, Comfort - Mlilwane Traditional Beehive Huts, Luxury - Mkhaya Game Reserve - Stone Camp
Day 7 :
Scenic drive through the rolling hills of Swaziland before arriving at the coastal town of St Lucia. Luxury tour travels to Makakatana Private Game Reserve.Overnight: Camping - NP Campsite, Comfort - Bib's Lodge, Luxury - Makakatana Lodge
Day 8 :
Today all tour options has a open vehicle safari visit to the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Big5 Game Parks included in their package. Rest of the day free to do one of many optional activities such as boatcruise on Estuary, dolphin cruise, snorkeling etc. Overnight: Camping - NP Campsite, Comfort - Bib's Lodge, Luxury - Makakatana Lodge
Day 9 :
Day at leisure to relax or do optional activities. Luxury tour has various options of included activities. Overnight: Camping - NP Campsite, Comfort - Bib's Lodge, Luxury - Makakatana Lodge
Day 10 :
We drive Southwards to Durban for a stop over to visit the Golden Mile of beaches, do some curio shopping and experience the vibrant city. Various optional activities such as a visit to the aquarium, riksja rides etc. excist. Overnight: Camping - just North of town in shared rooms in "On the Beach Backpackers" situated exactly where the name says :-), Comfort - Protea Hotel in Umhlanga Rocks, Luxury - 5* Teremok Lodge Boutique hotel in Umhlanga.
Day 11 :
We pass the town of Pietermaritzburg and continue onwards to the mighty Drakensberg Mountains. Various hikes and optional activities can be taken over the next few days. Overnight: Camping - Mahai Campsite, Comfort - Drakensville Resort, Luxury - Little Switzerland Resort.
Day 12 :
Day at leisure to explore this beautifull serene area. Overnight: Camping - Mahai Campsite, Comfort - Drakensville Resort, Luxury - Little Switzerland Resort.
Day 13 :
Today we head back to Johannesburg in time to take a guided tour of Soweto and if time allows visit the Parliament buildings in the Capital city Pretoria. Overnight: Camping - Twana Lodge, Comfort - Airport Grand Hotel, Luxury - 5* Michelangelo Sandton Towers
Day 14 :
After breakfast the tour ends, all that remains is the airport drop-off :-)
