Detailed Description

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY:

Day 1: Amman
Upon arrival your guide will meet you at Queen Alia International Airport for assistance with customs and immigration procedures. Transfer to Amman San Rock Hotel for the night.

Day 2: Amman/ Um Qais/ Ajlun/ Jerash/ Amman
After breakfast depart Amman to visit Um Qais, a city rich with basalt ruins and overlooking the Jordan Valley, Golan heights and Lake Tiberius (the sea of Galilee). Continue to visit the village of Ajlun with its fortress and magnificent view into the Jordan Valley. Proceed to Jerash; one of the most preserved Graeco-Roman cities in the Middle East and return to Amman. Overnight at the Amman San Rock Hotel.

Day 3: Amman/ Desert Castles/ Dead Sea
After breakfast visit the Desert Castles of Azraq, Amra and Kharaneh. Continue to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, 409 meters below sea level for a free day at leisure. Overnight at the Dead Sea Spa Hotel.

Day 4: Dead Sea/ Madaba/ Mt. Nebo/Wadi Mujib/ Kerak/ Dana
After breakfast depart south through the king's way, an ancient route that still has marks left from traders, armies and pilgrims who crossed it centuries ago. Visit the Christian Town of Madaba "The City of Mosaics" and take a detour to Mount Nebo, the site of the endearing monastery. Proceed to Kerak through Wadi Mujib, a deep valley holding one of Jordan's most breathtaking views. Visit the Kerak castle with its diverse history dated from the Byzantine to the Mamluk period. Continue to Dana. Overnight at the Dana Guesthouse.

Day 5: Dana/ Petra
After breakfast depart on a full day guided hiking tour of the Dana Reserve. Transfer by road to Petra. Overnight at Beit Zamaran or Taybet Zaman eco-lodge.

Day 6: Petra
After breakfast your tour of the ancient Nabatean Capital starts on horseback, followed by a walk through the Siq, a long narrow fissure between two overhanging cliffs. The tour then proceeds to gradually unfold the mysteries of the Red Rose City with its spectacular treasury, Royal Tombs, burial chambers and high places of sacrifice. Tonight visit the Petra Kitchen, a local culinary school/restaurant for instruction in traditional Jordanian cuisine. Instrucution directly benefits women’s cooperatives in the region. Return to the hotel for overnight.

Day 7: Petra/ Beida/ Wadi Rum
After breakfast proceed to Beida, also known as little Petra and the place where the Nabateans used to entertain their guests. Continue south to the enchanting desert of Wadi Rum, Jordan's largest desert and one of the most spectacular desert landscapes in the world. Embark on a Jeep tour inside the Wadi until sunset. Transfer to the campsite inside the desert. Traditional Bedouin dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 8: Wadi Rum
After breakfast a full day guided hiking tour inside the Wadi begins. Spend the day exploring the Wadi Rum desert. Return to the campsite for a traditional Bedouin dinner and another overnight at the camp.

Day 9: Wadi Rum/ Amman
After breakfast depart the desert and transfer back to Amman via desert highway. Overnight at the Amman San Rock Hotel.

Day 10: Departure
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your outbound flight.

• Assistance at the airport in Amman upon arrival and departure
• Road Transfers in a private modern air-conditioned car with English speaking driver.
• Accommodation on bed and breakfast basis.
• Entrance fees to all sites as per the above itinerary.
• Optional short horse ride in Petra and services of a local guide for the lower parts of Petra (tour length between 2-3 hours).
• Local guide in Jerash for two hours.
• Tour inside the desert of Wadi Rum in a 4x4 vehicle for 3 hours.
• Portage at the airport.
• Camp in the desert based on half board basis (breakfast, dinner)
• Guided hiking tour in Wadi Rum including lunch
