Day 1 :
THU: USA
Depart USA for an overnight flight to Venice.
Day 2 :
FRI: VENICE
Arrival in Venice. A Homeric Tours representative welcomes you to Italy and transfers you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 3 :
SAT: VENICE
After breakfast, enjoy a morning tour of Venice. Your day is at leisure to take an optional tour or explore this romantic city your on way. Visit St. Mark’s Square, and the Basilica of St. Marks. A short distance is the Doge’s Palace, decorated by 16th century artists such as Titian and Tintoretto. Perhaps lunch or drinks at Harry’s Bar where the infamous Bellini (champagne and Pear liquor) beverage was created. Your afternoon is at leisure. Take an optional excursion to Murano, Burano and Torcello. (B)
Day 4 :
SUN: VENICE / CRUISING
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. This afternoon, transfer to the pier to board your 7-day cruise. Early evening departure from Venice. (B,D)
Day 5 :
MON: BARI
Enjoy your time in Bari, where you see fairy tale houses that resemble chanterelle mushrooms and little houses with one-topped roofs called trulli, both dating back to 3000 BC. (B,L,D)
Day 6 :
TUE: KATAKOLON
Today, venture to the birthplace of the Olympic Games with the stadium, the temples of Hera and Apollo. Visit the Olympic Museum, view this popular attractions including Painios’ famous Victory and Praxiteles’ Hermes. (B,L,D)
Day 7 :
WED: SANTORINI / MYKONOS
This morning arrive in Santorini, the most spectacular of the Greek Islands. Take an optional excursion to the excavation site of Akrotiri or stroll the town of Fira and enjoy the view. Late this afternoon, Sail on to the cosmopolitan island of Mykonos. Enjoy a drink on the waterfront or shop the chic boutiques. (B,L,D)
Day 8 :
THU: PIRAEUS / ATHENS
Early morning arrival at the Athenian port of Piraeus. Take an optional excursion to the Acropolis and its temples. Stroll thought the Plaka, the colorful old quarter. If you choose, travel outside of Athens to Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon. (B,L,D)
Day 9 :
FRI: CORFU
Arrive in Corfu, the crown jewel of the Ionian Islands. Take an optional tour to the Old Town or Achilleion Palace, named by Empress Elizabeth of Austria for Achilles. (B,L,D)
Day 10 :
SAT: DUBROVNIK
Today arrive in Dubrovnik, the ancient city set on a peninsula and surrounded by a 1,000 year old protective wall. It is said to be one of the most beautiful spots in the world, as if you stepped back in time. (B,L,D)
Day 11 :
SUN: VENICE / USA
Disembark the ship at the port of Venice and transfer to the airport for your return flight home. Arrival same day. (B)
