Detailed Itinerary
Uluru (Ayers Rock) & Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
Arrive by air prior to 1:00pm and transfer to your hotel. Enter Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and travel to the giant domes of Kata Tjuta. Walk into the majestic Walpa (Olga) Gorge. Continue on to enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and the changing colors of Uluru at sunset. Overnight: Ayers Rock Resort, Outback Pioneer Hotel (standard), Desert Gardens (first class) or Sails in the Desert (deluxe)
Ayers Rock—Kings Canyon
Rise early and witness the day’s first light strikes Uluru. As the sun rises, take a guided walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole. See cave paintings and hear the legends of Kuniya Tjukurpa (Python Dreaming). Tour the base of Uluru and learn about the geology and flora of the region on the Mala Walk. Explore Kantju Gorge before visiting the Cultural Center and Maruku Arts and Craft Cooperative where you may see Aboriginal artists at work. Or, you can forgo the guided walks to climb Uluru and stand 1141 feet above the desert. Travel to Kings Canyon. Overnight: Kings Canyon Resort, Standard Rooms (standard and first class), Spa Rooms (deluxe) or upgrade to the EXCLUSIVE Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge (additional cost)
Kings Canyon—Alice Springs
Join a guided walk to the rim of Kings Canyon (requires a good level of fitness), or take the easier canyon floor walk. Depart for Alice Springs.
