Detailed Description

Day 1, Johannesburg: The Peech Hotel
Arrive in Johannesburg from New York. Roar Africa will meet you and transfer you to
your hotel where you will overnight before heading out to Cliff top Lodge.

Day 2 & 3 Safari: Clifftop Safari hideway, Waterberg
Depart hotel at am. Stop at Sterkfontein Caves and Bafokeng, enroute to Clifftops.
situated in the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve in the Waterberg Mountains.
(King Leruo Molotlegi is the 36th recorded King of the Bafokeng people of South Africa.
Since ascending the throne in 2000, King Leruo has been working towards achieving
sustainable economic development for the Bafokeng ethnic group, numbering
approximately 300,000. As owners of the land that includes the world's second largest
platinum reserve, the Bafokeng control considerable mineral wealth, making them
politically influential in their own right, as well as a powerful voice for traditional
communities in South Africa.

Arrive at Clifftop Lodge in time for the evening game drive. The lodge has 8 luxury suites
with private plunge pools perched on a cliff overlooking the Sterkstroom River. The main
lodge offers the perfect setting for sundowners on the deck next to the infinity pool or
nightcaps in the private wine cellar. Lodge activities include game viewing and bushwalks.
Possible horse ride at Horizon Horseback.

Day 4 & 5 Safari: Imbali Lodge,Kruger National Park
Depart early morning inorder to get back to Johannesburg airport for 12:20 flight to
Kruger. On arrival you will be met by Imbali lodge for your transfer to the Lodge.
Your guide will share with expert knowledge and BUSH CRAFT (animal tracking skills) to
try and show you the Big Five (Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino). Watch the
buffalo or hear the lions roar while you enjoy the sunset out on the planes. Within the
untouched wilderness of the Kruger National Park, Imbali Safari Lodge in Kruger National
Park - continues the tradition of Safari in the romantic style of the past.
Imbali Safari Lodge has rooms with en-suite bathrooms with built in showers, mosquito
nets, antique baths, air-conditioner and ceiling fans. There is a fully licensed bar, tea and
coffee is available in the lounge area at no additional charge at this safari lodge in Kruger
N a t i o n a l P a r k .
Experience the colonial delights of 4 o'clock tea, succulent evening meals, cigars and
brandy at this safari lodge in Kruger National Park. Early morning and later afternoon
game drives are optional each day. Take in the untouched beauty of the bush, and take
home stories of your very own African safari.

Day 6 Pretoria: Illyria House
13:55pm Fly back to Johannesburg and transfer by car to Pretoria. Overnight in Pretoria
at Illyria House. A magnificent villa with sweeping views across the treetops of the
historical Jacaranda City. Set in tranquil gardens, teeming with birds, it is no wonder that
Illyria is often referred to as a “little paradise”. It is 5 minutes from the Blue Train
station.

Day 7 Blue Train to Cape Town
Board The Blue Train at 8:50am and travel south through farmlands and along the 'golden
arc'; visible only by the mining shafts in the distance. The Blue Train has an aura of
mystique about it. Kings and presidents have traveled on this magnificent moving five-star
hotel. Its very name has become synonymous with the ultimate in luxury and personal
service. En route to Cape Town there is a stopover and excursion in Kimberley, where we
take a step back in time to the days of the diamond rush. Continue on to a South bound
journey into the heartland of the Great Karoo. Awaken to the sight of vineyards and
orchards as you descend through mysterious and beautiful valleys and mountains, such as
Drakenstein, Slanghoek and Elandskloof - towards Cape Town's imposing and instantly
recognizable Table Mountain, sentinel and gateway to the African continent. The train
arrives in Cape Town at 12:00/noon where your guide will meet you.

Day 8 & 9 Cape Town: Winelands
On arriving in Cape Town we will drive you out to the winelands for 2 days of spectacular
cuisine and world class wines. Nestled between towering mountains in the beautiful Cape
winelands lies the magnificent Franschhoek Valley. This is the food and wine heartland of
the country, where splendid wines are grown and our top chefs create international
cuisine. Set in the breath-taking Franschhoek valley, Klein Genot is all about enjoying the
good life. The luxury of this choice of Franschhoek accommodation lies in the details in
each individually decorated suite at Klein Genot with original artworks and hand quilted
French linen creating a tranquil and welcoming sanctuary. There is also a world class spa
onsite.

Day 10 – Cape Town: Uthando Projects & Kirstenbosch Gardens
We will depart the winelands after breakfast and head towards Cape Town. Enroute we
will meet James Fernie the founder of Uthando. Uthando provides a platform and
infrastructure to raise funds from individuals, groups and organizations who have an
interest in the region. The money generated supports a broad range of grass roots,
community based, sustainable, innovative and empowerment projects with substantial
and enduring value to the most destitute and marginalized communities in South Africa.
We will visit 2 projects.
Jkeleza – “A Chance to Dance” project: Empowering, uplifting and improving the quality
of life of children and youth from impoverished communities through creative dance and
music interventions.
Hout Bay – Music Project: Provision of music and arts tuition to children from
disadvantaged communities of Hangberg and Imizamo.

A visit to Kirstenbosch gardens will follow. The garden is one of eight National Botanical
Gardens covering five of South Africa's six different biomes. When Kirstenbosch, the most
famous of the gardens, was founded in 1913 to preserve the country's unique flora, it
was the first botanical garden in the world with this ethos. Your hotel while in Cape Town
is Le Vendome. Situated in the cosmopolitan suburb of Sea Point, with picturesque views
of the Atlantic coast and a mere fifty metres walk from the vibrant Sea Point promenade,
Hôtel Le Vendôme is a luxury boutique hotel, marrying French old world charm, with
elegance, comfort and renowned South African hospitality.

Day 11 – Cape Town: Robben Island
Today we head for Robben Island, former prison of Nelson Mandela. We will take a boat
from the Waterfront at 10am. Upon our return to the waterfront at 1pm, browse the
shops and restaurants of the waterfront. Weather dependant we will take the cable car
up table mountain so you can experience the magnificent view.s

Day 12 – Cape Town: Green Market Sq

Day 13 – Cape Town: Cape Peninsula Tour
A possibility for today would be to tour to Cape Point along the Atlantic coastline to the
Cape of Good Hope, first seen by a European in 1488 when Diaz sailed around it on his
search for an ocean route to the East Indies. We will take a boat ride to Seal Island
where approx 700 Cape Fur Seals have made their home. Watch closely for possible
sightings of whales and dolphins! From Hout Bay we tour over Chapman’s Peak and
towards Cape Boulders beach, home to the only colony of Penguins in Africa.

Day 14- 13:40 Return flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg and fly on to NYC

prior to DEPARTURE. Payment can be made by credit card, check or bank transfer. Prices
are subject to exchange rate fluctuation, billing is done as per the exchange rate on the
day of invoice.
Cancellation charges will be levied when guests cancel confirmed reservations. The costs
of the cancellation fees will escalate the closer the guests cancel to their departure date.
We are a long haul destination and most of our safaris are booked six months before
departure. If a booking has been made less than 8 weeks prior to departure, the
cancellation policy still applies.
Our cancellation policy is as follows:
* If a cancellation is made more than 8 weeks before departure then the guest loses his
20% (non-refundable) deposit - which is subtracted from the deposit.
* If a cancellation is made between 4 weeks and 8 weeks, the guest loses his deposit
plus 30% of the total price. (i.e. the guests loses 80% of the total price.)
* If a guest cancels less than four weeks prior to departure, the guest loses 100% of the
price.
*Cancellation of any internal flights booked within South Africa is subject to 100%
cancellation fee.
