While there are wildlife preserves in Goa, it is mostly know for it's birds. Common species that you could see are sambar (a large deer), Gaur (the indian bison), and maybe some small barking deer. MOnkeys are around but they can be aggressive and nasty. They come to the temple sites because they've learned that it's a good place to find food...people litter, feed them, etc. A monkey bite is very unpleasent so do not feed and do stay a safe distance.
