A few questions for our time in London

This will be my first time to London and have a couple questions. 1, we plan on going to Cotswolds, but should we spend the day there on our own or with a tour? 2, we plan on staying at the Cavendish Hotel, is the location decent for access to local shops and places to eat? Thanks!

If you’re only spending a day in Cotswolds I’d recommend going with a tour. It took us a few days last time to see everything that was recommended and hiring a car and navigating was a bit nerve-racking. There are plenty of day trip tours available. I’d recommend picking some that focus more on inner Cotswolds. Feasible daytrips you can do yourself by rail include Windsor, Bath, Brighton, Oxford and Salisbury. www.nationalrail.co.uk for timetables and fares.

The Cavendish Hotel is an excellent place to stay, but it’s a bit on the pricey side. There are plenty of places to eat in and around the hotel with access to public transportation all in the area.
