The hotel includes a new fine dining restaurant and a second restaurant offers Mediterranean style Al Fresco cuisine. Other facilities include a luxurious wellness centre, a sauna, swimming pool, pool bar, gymnasium and Colonial Cigar Bar.
Mont Rochelle is located in the village of Franschhoek, set between the majestic mountains of the Cape Winelands. It is here that the most delicious wines are grown and where top chefs create mouth watering, internationally acclaimed cuisine. The town is littered with amazing arts, crafts, antique shops and galleries and the main streets are lined with coffee shops. Eight of the ‘Top 100’ restaurants are situated in Franschhoek which is probably why it is often referred to as the gourmet capital of South Africa. Most of the farms still bear their original French names, have Cape Dutch homes, oak trees and sweeping vineyards. The area boasts a wide selection of wine cellars, from small wineries, to large cellars with organized tours and conducted tastings. For the more adventurous guests, the area offers paragliding launch sites and mountain bike trails.
A day at leisure to explore Franschhoek. Mont Rochelle provides daily optional excursions like private wine tasting, cellar tours with the wine maker, walking and mountain bike trails, picnics and horse riding at the Mont Rochelle Equestrian Centre. The vineyards are planted with noble cultivars and reflect the full range of the terrior of the valley. Sixteen hectares of the 33 hectare farm is under vine and boasts Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The traditional Cape Dutch buildings on the farm will be preserved and attention is going to be placed on maintaining old wine making techniques to produce the finest quality product. The main focus of the Mont Rochelle Hotel and Mountain Vineyard is to offer guests the ultimate gourmet winelands experience.
