Staying in Waikiki, where to go from here?

Our family is finally going to Hawaii! We’re thinking February/March but wanted to do some research on locations and prices before we booked everything. At this point we’re probably going to stay in Waikiki. Any suggestions for our trip planning will be appreciated.
