Following the ocean breeze to the Amalfi Coast, you will discover rich history as well as enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty where mountains meet the sea. The area is dotted with most charming churches and villas built by Italian ancestors who settled here long ago.

The city of Amalfi was at one time the world’s top handmade paper supplier. Two traditional paper manufacturing companies still exist in the city today. The Amalfi navy was also one of the most formidable in its time and helped rid the surrounding seas of troubling pirates and protected the country’s coast.

Stroll through the Cathedral of Amalfi complex which consists of a cloister dubbed “Chiostro del Paradiso” (Cloister of Paradise), an atrium, a stairway and a crypt. Visit the monastic complex of Santa Maria de Olearia where you’ll find several chapels filled with amazing frescoes.

Take walking tours through the Paper Museum and the old Arsenal that housed arms for the Amalfi naval ships called “Sagene” which were of Arabian origin and were fast and highly maneuverable.

Take other excursions along the Amalfi coastal area to Cetara, a fishing village famous for its culinary seafood specialties such as red tuna and salted anchovy sauce, or to Minori where you’ll find delicious dishes of homemade pastas. Trek into the lush green mountains to Tramonti which will dazzle you with its quality wines, tasty dishes and dairy products.

Enjoy vibrant views from the town of Ravello which sits 350 meters above the sea. Here you can gaze upon such architectural treasures as the Cathedral of San Panteleone and the Rufolo and Cimbrone Villas which have been adored by and inspired such famous celebrities as John and Jacqueline Kennedy, Humphrey Bogart, Greta Garbo, Ingrid Bergman, Gore Vidal and Wagner.

Travel to Praiano and walk along La Praia beach. Tour the Saracen towers and the Church of St. Luca the Evangelist. Partake of a romantic sunset while admiring the Sorrento Peninsula, the bay of Positano and the Faraglioni of Capri at the impressive Monastary of Santa Maria a Castro.

Hop over to Positano, the pearl of the Amalti Coast, where you will encounter noble palaces, amazing churches and ancient Roman villas. Embark on guided tours to the Li Galli islands which sit just off shore.
